Daniel M. Ringel was born in 1976 in Frankfurt, Germany. He studied business administration at Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University in cooperation with IBM from 1997 to 2000. In 2011, Daniel completed his executive MBA as Goethe Scholar from Goethe Business School in alliance with DUKE Fuqua School of Business.

From 2000 to 2003, Daniel worked as management consultant for the Monitor Group in Switzerland, Germany, UK, Russia, South Africa and Kenya. He then headed a small management consulting firm specialized in the energy services industry. At the same time he founded an e-commerce centric retail and wholesale business specialized in the sales, distribution and production of remote controlled airplanes and helicopters. He sold this business in 2011 and discontinued his consulting activities to start his doctoral studies at Goethe University with Prof. Dr. Skiera.

Winner of the INFORMS Society for Marketing Science Doctoral Dissertation Proposal Competition 2014 with his proposal on "Creating Insights in Markets with Many Products"
