The Department of Marketing is offering the possibility to complete a doctoral degree in marketing. The objective of the doctoral program is to enable candidates to write an excellent doctoral thesis in the field of marketing and to contribute to the scientific discussion on a national and international basis. The doctoral program has a clear quantitative focus and encompasses a strong methodological and theoretical formation.

This formation is offered within the Master of Science in Quantitative Economics program [Link]. Candidates successfully completing the MSQE program receive their Master degree and are then invited to complete their doctoral thesis within the Department. The expected time frame for completion after obtaining the Master degree is between 2 and 3 years.

admissions tab.  Candidates with a successful bachelor degree in business,
economics, or associated fields (for instance computer science, applied
mathematics) are invited to apply. The candidate first degree may have been
obtained in Germany (Fachhochschule or University) or in other countries.

Costs:  At present, Goethe University does not charge tuition for the MSQE Program!  The program is free except for an administrative fee of currently 250 euro per semester! Upon completion of the Master program, candidates are typically offered a position as research assistant within the Department and therefore receive a stipend for the duration of their doctoral studies.

Placement: Recent graduates from the doctoral program in Marketing have taken academic positions in a variety of Universities worldwide: University of Passau (Germany), London Business School (England), University of Amsterdam (Netherlands), Instituto de Empresa (Spain), University of Technology Sydney (Australia).
