DMV-ifo Marketing Barometer June 2022

Slight decrease in sentiment in the marketing industry in June

In the June survey, all the main indicators of the DMV-ifo Marketing Barometer fall. After several months of upward trend, German marketeers thus assess the mood as slightly worse again than in the previous month.

The German marketing industry assessed the current business climate in June 1.2 points lower to an index value of 92.9 points. Likewise, the ifo Business Climate Index, the benchmark for the German economy as a whole, fell by 0.7 points to 92.3 points. Furthermore, the assessment of the current business situation declines somewhat more strongly by 2.3 points to the index value of 95.0 points. However, the business expectations of the German marketing industry worsened only marginally in June by 0.1 points to 91.0 points.

Likewise, in the current survey the assessments for the order backlog drop to an only slightly positive balance value of 1.9 (-4.0) points. The marketing industry is also more pessimistic about the number of employees than in the previous month. This balance value decreased to 24.7 (-1.4) points. The turnover expectations of German marketers remained unchanged in June at 40.0 points. Only price expectations rose in June to 41.0 (+3.6) points.
