About
Max Althaus studied Computer Science at Goethe University Frankfurt, focusing on Theoretical Computer Science in his Bachelor's (2019-2022) and Artificial Intelligence in his Master's (2022-2025).
Since July 2025, he is a doctoral student under Bernd Skiera and Kevin Bauer at the Chair of Electronic Commerce.
His research interests lie in generative AI, with a particular focus on questions of user privacy. In addition, he works on big data analysis and the effects of the Digital Markets Act on data portability.
During his studies, he already gained diverse practical experience. At EDAG, he developed software solutions; in cooperation with Deutsche Bahn, he worked on dynamic optimizations for railway route planning; and on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, he analyzed large datasets and developed an LLM-RAG system for semantic search in historical coin descriptions.
